Snake

Snake is a classic video game that puts everyone’s finger dexterity to the test. The game is simple in itself, which is why it is so popular. For that and because of the nostalgia felt by all the players who first encountered this game on their first Nokia mobile phones.

Just as with its homonym from the Nokia phones, in this online Snake game the goal is also simple: feed the snake and make it grow as much as possible while avoiding colliding with its own body. The longer the snake, the higher your score.

Rules

In this online Snake game, the snake takes the shape of a series of white squares that moves nonstop on the screen. The food is the yellow squares that appear one at a time in random positions.

For each yellow square the snake eats, one white square is added to its body, making it longer.

The borders of the screen transport the snake to the opposite side. For example, if you cross the left border, the snake will appear in the same direction coming out of the right one.

You lose the game if the snake collides with its own body. Your goal is to make it as long as possible. The more yellow squares you eat, the higher your score.

How to play Snake online

Click “Play” to start the game. Then you will be asked to choose a difficulty level: easy, medium, or hard. The difficulty is related to the speed of the snake. The harder it is, the faster it will move.

Once you have picked the difficulty level, you can start playing. You have two options to control the movement of the snake. Either you can use the arrows on your keyboard or the digital control on the screen by clicking or tapping on the directional arrows.

Try to get to as many yellow squares as possible to make your snake grow and improve your score. Once the snake collides with its own body you lose the game. In the end, you will see a screen with your final score and your highest one in this game.

You can play Snake online for free as much as you want and try to beat your highest score each time.

Tips to win at Snake

Keep close to the borders

The longer the snake gets, the harder it will be to maneuver it without hitting itself. A good way to avoid this is by keeping close to the borders. This way, you ensure you always have space on the screen to move around, even if you make a mistake in changing directions.

Zig zag to save space

When staying by the edges is no longer enough or becomes too complicated, you can also move your snake in a zigzag. By doing it, you concentrate the snake in one area of the board and can control the free space to get to the yellow squares without having the tail in the way.
